Since 1 February 2024, the Republic of Portugal has assumed the Chairmanship of the Rabat Process, taking over from the Kingdom of Morocco, in accordance with the usual rotation system between Africa and Europe. The handover ceremony took place in Rabat, Morocco, during the Senior Officials meeting organised by the outgoing Chairmanship. In a video interview, Luis Goes Pinheiro, President of the Agency for Integration, Migration and Asylum (AIMA), presented the vision and priorities of the Portuguese Chairmanship of the Rabat Process.
