The main ministries in charge of migration affairs in the Czech Republic:
- Ministry of the Interior: Together with its subordinate authorities it is the main body dealing with migration affairs, including immigration (entry, residence); border management and irregular migration; the reception of asylum seekers and the asylum procedure; socio-economic integration; return and readmission.
- Ministry of Foreign Affairs: responsible for visa issuance and consular affairs; in charge of returns; coordinates development cooperation with countries of origin and transit of migration.
- Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs: labour migration (sets out labour market access criteria for foreign nationals); social services.
