A workshop on the fight against migrants smuggling will take place in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, on 24th October 2019.

The Euro-African Dialogue on Migration and Development (Rabat Process) will gather police officers, gendarmerie officials and specialised magistrate from its partner countries in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, for this meeting chaired by France, current chair of the Rabat Process.

A technical workshop on diaspora remittances and sustainable development is scheduled to take place in November 5-6, 2019 in Abuja, Nigeria.

This workshop will gather practitioners and policy-makers, who will explore the issue of the productivity of diaspora remittances and discuss instruments which enable remittances to better contribute to sustainable development. To provide Dialogue partners with an overview of such instruments, the Secretariat is currently developing a mapping of existing initiatives: the most relevant will be presented during the meeting, in order to provide participants with concrete examples and to promote the transferability of effective instruments in the region of the Rabat Process.
