Developing the new multi-annual cooperation program 2017-2020

As agreed by all Rabat Process partner countries, drafting committees will be organised in Brussels between June and July 2017 in view of the Fifth Euro-African Ministerial Conference, to be held in early 2018. 

The Drafting Committees will gather the representatives of Rabat Process partner countries, with the aim to develop the dialogue’s new strategic framework and work on the draft of the Post-Rome multi-annual cooperation program 2017-2020.

Five different drafting sessions will take place, each focusing on a different thematic area linked to the Rabat Process:

Committee 1 - 9th June 2017

Theme: Factors of irregular migration and root causes of forced displacement, including the development benefits of migration

Committee 2 - 14th June 2017

Theme: Legal migration and mobility

Committee 3 - 20th June 2017

Theme: International protection and asylum

Committee 4 - 22nd June 2017

Theme: Preventing and combating irregular migration, human trafficking and migrant smuggling

Committee 5 - 29th June 2017

Theme: Return, Readmission and Reintegration
