The main ministries in charge of migration affairs in Finland:
Ministry of the Interior: Together with its subordinate authorities it is the main body dealing with migration affairs, serves as chair of Finland’s Ministerial Working Group on Migration and represents Finland in migration matters at national and European levels. Areas of responsibility include immigration (entry, residence); border management and irregular migration; the reception of asylum seekers and the asylum procedure; return and readmission.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs: visa policy and consular affairs.
Ministry of Employment and the Economy: labour migration and socio-economic integration.
